But Dr without a period isn't unconventional. I'm not saying they should type "Yahoo!" or whatever. It's the right thing.

And until I see them use ipod or Ipod, I don't buy it.

Tonite was rough....I like most of these people. Sad about the outcome, I think.

I thought Arrianne (sp?) was in over her head a bit on this show, but to me she seemed like the person that could actually cook the best. Maybe not inventive or creative, but for god's sake, she made a delicious turkey using a microwave. Rahdika and Leah have shown nothing so far this season. Nothing.
And I agree, I like Fabio too, but it's been several episodes since he's cooked anything impressive.
The top three are Hosea, Stefan and Jeff, with the little blond girl running right there.

Arianne should have been gone back in the third episode. The only reason she's lasted as long as she has is because she road the coattails of Jamie's menu in Gail's Bridal Shower episode. I actually predicted Carla would be going home this week, but when I saw she was paired with Stefan and Jamie, I knew they'd produce a solid menu.

I'm still going to stick with the Euros and probably Jamie in the final three. I think Hosea is strong enough to get there, but (gasp, I'm going to say something sexist) I can't see them having a Finale without a female chef. So, one of the male "Big Dogs" will get clipped along the way.

Either way, can't really complain about the last chefs remaining. Seems like they've all been pretty consistent. The ones that were consistenly on the bottom are gone, now the top ones (Stefan, Fabio, Hosea) will start picking off the middle of the pack ones like Leah, Radhika and Jeff.

Jeff is the x-factor. I could see it getting to "his time," with five people left, and he blows everyone away, knocking out Hosea, Jamie or Stefan in the process.

I hope they keep the focus on the new judge's comment about judging the week by itself. There were several that could have gone last night, and probably the right one did. If it's on a week to week basis with no points for previous performance, then Stefan is subject to go with one bad week, and that's not a bad thing. He's a prick.

  7. It's always on a week-to-week basis, and for the most part, they are pretty good about that. That is how an awesome chef like Tre a few seasons back got sent home for restaurant wars (always a dangerous week). He was the leader of a not-so-good restaurant and he got sent home even though his dish was good and he was clearly one of, if not the, top chef that year.

As for this week, my favorite line was Stefan's about being the only cock with all those hens. Funny stuff. Ariane was clearly over her head. I am no chef and I could tie a freaking roast. She knows how to cook, but, as they like to say, this isn't Top Cook, it's Top Chef (for the record, as Fabio reported, it's not Top Scallop either).

I think Stefan and Jamie are both locks for the final three, barring something weird happening (or one of them running the losing restaurant next week in restaurant wars). Jeff, Hosea and Fabio will battle for that final spot. I hope it's Fabio, the dude's just fun to watch, probably my favorite contestant ever.

I think it was last season that Tom said, 'It's a cooking contest, you have to cook something!'

This season it just seems like there's a bunch of ingredients messed together, but not much that makes you think, 'How the heck did they come up with that!'

I predict one of the veteran judges will smack the new guy with a meat tenderizer before the end of the season.

One of the foodie blogs jokes that next season the cheftestants will have logos like NASCAR drivers. I can see that happening. Sell one placement per week and have that tie into something they use in that episode.

Went to a restaurant recently where Marcel from season two must consult. Foam dipping plate for the appetizer and a sea of foam drowning the entree. I'm open to different presentation and taste, but this was crap. Added nothing to either dish in any way. I think they used the bubbles from the sink where they wash the dishes.

Still think Stefan will be the guy, but I'd love to be wrong.

I'm a little tired of all the product placement.
    But so it goes.
They sent the right person home tonight. Arianne (SP?) can cook but she isn't a chef.
The contest is Top Chef, not Top Cook.
    People seem to forget that.
It isn't always the best cook who wins.
To be a chef, you have to have a little something more besides just being able to cook. Some artistry. Some flair. And then have the ability to balance that with edible food.
As for Fabio, it isn't Top Ravioli. Quit making the same damn dish.
Radhka (SP?) goes home next. She doesn't know what she is doing.

I thought it was funny during Fabio's interview, he says "We're not going to do anything Indian (because of Radhka) or anything Italian." But what does he make? Ravioli. Good job there, Fabio.

  12. That was good, although to give them a tiny bit of credit, not going to the store threw a wrench in a lot of plans, so they all kind of had to fall back on stuff they already know.
