Like most, I think Hosea winning is a major disappointment. However, I do appreciate that his clinching dish wasn't fucking seafood. The venison put him over the top.

Stefan was the best cook this season but went far too simple in the finale, which has been the bane of many TC contestants.

So in retrospect, how many seasons has the best cook won Top Chef? One?? I n my opinion only Harold in Season One won being the Top Chef throughout the contest.

Gail's blog from the final episode. Sounds like Fabio was wrong after all, it WAS Top Scallop...

Cocky Chef, Indeed! I was just happy Stefan did not win. I thought he was condescending toward Carla waiting for the final decision from Judge's Table (which was the right decision <Hosea winning!>).

Did not see the whole show, but can't wait to.

Wait. What did I miss? I saw him wipe tears from her cheeks in the room. I took that to be a kind gesture. What else did he do?

  5. My thoughts exactly. I thought it was very touching.

Honestly, I think Stefan is a good guy, he is just cocky and arrogant. I won't blame editing because he said the stuff he said, that's on him, but I do think he really isn't a bad guy, we just got to see his cocky and arrogant side.

While I am at it, I loved that Casey came back because, well, she is crazy hot and this season was lacking in the sex appeal. But, why did she interject so much with Carla? It is Carla's meal, let her do it. Carla might not have won anyway, but she lost because she listened to Casey and cooked Casey's food, not Carla's food. I would feel terrible if I came in and made that big of an impact on someone's final shot at Top Chef.

I have absolutely no problem with Hosea winning. Frankly, I think Carla was in over her head. Jamie shoulda been in the final 3. Carla made great desserts and had two great weeks near the end, but I don't think she belonged at the end.

Never had a problem with Stefan. Sure, he was cocky, but he could back it up. His downfall was not trying hard enough.

    I agree with you.

Sam was probably the best chef in Season 2 and didn't make it to the finals. Tre was the best chef in Season 3 and got kicked off on the Restaurant Wars show.

You know what, we really just don't have a clue. It's not like we ate the food or saw everything that happened. We just see some excerpts on TV.

If you really think about, a really absurd idea for a TV show....at least with singing or clothing design, you can experience the product.

So when we argue about 'who's the best?'....all that really means is 'who did the producers want us to like?'

And Blaze was by far the best in Season Four.

Your Season 2/3 names are the same ones I was thinking of, BTW.

The biggest surprise for me this season? It's obviously ok to say "twat" on TV nowadays. Do you think "twatwaffle" would make it?

I'm talking good attitude/attributes that would make me want to work with someone or frequent their establishment. Plus they made dishes that I considered appealing, even with ingredients I don't particularly care for.

Jamie basically made one dish the entire time (scallops) and slightly altered it each time. The few times she went away from scallops, she pretty much sucked.

Yeah, I try to keep that in mind when criticizing the judges/chefs on the show. We have no idea how the food tastes. I'm sure to probably 90% of the population, the food would taste awesome, but the judges have refined palates and can pull flavors out that normal people would never be able to do.

I'm like Fly, most of my opinions come based on how the chef cooks, their attitude, their personality. Half of the time when I like someone's dish, chances are I wouldn't even eat it because it has ingredients I'm not fond of. But it's their presentation and their confidence that wins me over.
