Top-five things chicks don't get about us

Discussion in 'Anything goes' started by hondo, Jun 22, 2011.

  1. Not married, never had sex. Hence my belief that the sex starts when the marriage begins, or if the marriage begins.

    good luck with that

  3. I expect I'll never find out because barring a large shift in my desire to have children, my church will not marry me. But when you tell every woman no and you won't change your mind without being married, then the sex would have technically have to begin after the marriage.

I applaud you for your convictions but, man, what a dull life you must lead.

Out of curiousity, why won't your church marry you?

Yes, what JC said (with Kermit punctuation). :D

I was a little confused by that post regarding your church.

  8. Catholic. The Church considers a marriage where you can but won't have children to be invalid. Unless I change my mind on wanting children, I could only marry if it was to a woman who is naturally infertile.

    WTF?

  10. Not really. We all have different things we want. For instance, I enjoy spending my time traveling and cooking. I get to do both quite often. To me, that's worth never drinking nor having sex. To you, maybe it wouldn't be.

  11. Well, I'm very religious and have no intention of living in sin, so it's pretty clear-cut from my point of view. I recognize that it's not all that easy for most to understand, though.

Not picking on you personally, because I applaud your decision to do what is right for yourself, but this is what I don't understand about religion.

Clearly, by exercising your free agency in your choice to not have children, you disagree with the church's stance on this. If you didn't disagree, you would have children just for the sake of having children, or as a means to an end (church marriage).

So why would you choose to remain aligned with a religion that you disagree with in such a fundamental way?
