I think I'll wait to read the book before signing on the the Post's version of what the it does or does not say.

Me too. It just does not seem consistent with how Joe conducts business.

We know from Clemens story that Tom Verducci has very little credibility.

Pretty funny that the book's been sitting around in a NY bookstore for a week without anyone (but the Post) noticing.

Of course, it's possible that this isn't completely true; if Amazon isn't even shipping it yet, that bookstore would be in big trouble for selling those books so long before the pub date.

I'm intrigued by the decision to go 3rd person throughout the entire book. As the Times review points out, you really lose the opportunity to capture Torre's voice, which seems like a pretty big loss. I understand how they arrived at this--Verducci can go where Torre might not want to (or be able to) venture--but in the end, I can see how it might marginalize Torre's impact on the reader.

    Two pieces in today's Times:

As opposed to a three-pronged attack on Torre from the NYY Pinstriped Post

    He was a crazy player.

Terible most days, but was a demon during Saturday night games.

He was berry good on those Saturday nights.

It's not the Wheaties, it's the Morning Joe.

I don't know what he ate for breakfast, but I have a pretty decent idea of who he ate before breakfast.
