    Is it Mika?

Yeah, but it would seem that due to the Yanks' shoddy treatment of Torre at the end, he couldn't resist snapping back.

In addition to the Q&A, they've put up an excerpt concerning the final meeting for Torre in Tampa.

So where exactly did he rip Cashman?

Enough of this shoddy treatment / insult nonsense. They did to Torre exactly what they just did with Pettite. He had been paid off of a time when his performance was better than it was lately and they offered him a lower base & incentives that get him back to his old salary if his performance merits it. Fair offer, TOrre has the right to refuse, but it wasn't an insult.

There's two sides to almost every issue, including this one, and I recognize Torre's virtues and faults (he got FAR better results with Zimmer at his side), but the Yanks' broad displays of public insensitivity during the proceedings did not reflect well on upper management.

I also recognize his strengths & weaknesses, he has alot of both. But what broad displays are you talking aBout?

Nice job by Buster Olney taking Torre to task.

Did Chico steal Ed Kranepool's uniform number?

The one-year offer was insulting, in context . . . so was letting him dangle. And of course, at the end, Cashman, who wasn't interested in committing suicide with the Steinbrenners for Torre's sake, didn't have Joe's back.

One thing I don't understand is why Joe did not pitch the 2 year offer himself while in the meeting. with the Steinbrenners.

Again, what's the difference between what they did to him and how they treated Pettite?
