To get this thread back to something that actually has to do with Trent Green, for those who watched Den-KC, what did you think of how KC used Huard today?

He clearly had a good game, but I think you could argue he led to KC's losing too. It seemed to me Herm was playing even more conservative than he's known to and was going for field goals every single chance he had. Huard didn't screw up much, but he wasn't asked to do anything at all. I can only remember one play downfield, and that was the big pass to Kennison which was preceded by a fake reverse.

I think if KC wanted to win, they had to at least give Huard a chance. The way they played, their only hope was an interception return (Plummer tried) or a series of about 10 missed tackles on Johnson. The way they played the best they could hope for was for Denver to keep tripping up on offense and to either win 6-3 or get lucky in overtime.

    Pilot,
I agree. Huard should've been allowed to try to get a damn touchdown when Wesley intercepted that pass at the Denver 30.

Although, his ill-advised catching of a batted pass was frought with dumb-fuckery.

But in the fourth quarter especially, he needed to have a chance to make plays to get in range for a field goal. KC's best chance to win that game was in regulation.

As for the Broncos, they are a joke. Nine points in Denver against the Chiefs? And I see the real Joke Plummer is back. What an absolutely horrible quarterback. I think I'd rather have Damon Huard than Plummer.

And to think they played host to the AFC title game eight months ago.

    Wow ...

How time flies! The real Joke Plummer played that day too, if I remember correctly.

Herm made it clear before the game that the only thing he would ask of Huard: "Don't lose the game for us." He didn't lose it, but sure didn't win it, either. The Chiefs should have had zero chance of winning that game. The defense kept them in it. It's obviously improved, which was evident last week against Cincy, too.

This offense is going to be run through Johnson, who wore down late yesterday, even when Green comes back.

Imagine is the officials would have called offensive pass interference on the Broncos in overtime like they did ad nauseum against the Chiefs two weeks ago.

No, I believe he is referring to the BS pass interference call on Samie Parker against Cincy. Comparing the OT catch by Walker and what Parker did, they are a wash. Problem is, one referee thought Parker was a punk-ass young 'un while Walker is a respected veteran.
