Was it a legal play? Did he slide properly?

On a serious note, what happened? That's too bad. Except for Bill Romanowki, Shannon Sharpe and a handful of Raiders over the years, I wouldn't wish an injury upon any one.

    Was it more than twice?

For what it's worth, I thought the call against Parker in Week 1 was pretty weak, and I saw nothing at all on Walker's catch.

I'll say it again: Kansas City didn't try to win the game and as a Bronco homer, I'm glad. Everyone in the KC market seems thrilled to have lost a close game and for the life of me, I can't figure out why. Denver's game plan wasn't as dumbed down as KC's, but it was close. I thought maybe KC was hoping to return a pick or something, ya know, win off a Plummer mistake, but he played terrible and they didn't win. He missed about two dozen open receivers and Denver puts the game away in regulation if Jake can hit a wide open tight end for a TD on third down from the four.

KC's defense played a lot better than it has, I thought, but I also thought just the slightest bit of accuracy from Plummer opens the game up a lot.

Again, KC played as if they wanted to lose by three. If they wanted to win, they'd have thrown the ball to try and score a touchdown before deciding to kick a field goal. Johnson was good and strong, but it was clear fairly early he wasn't going to win the game by himself and every drive the combination of short passes and Johnson up the gut/Johnson on the stretch would eventually fail to net 10 yards.

I saw it as exactly what all the Herm-haters have been saying ... but everyone in KC seems thrilled nevertheless.

As for Denver, eh. I don't know. It's beyond clear that it won't accomplish crap playing like this. The Broncos are fine on defense and have yet to give up a touchdown, and I wasn't totally put off by their running game. They can't keep playing Plummer like this though. Yesterday's game plan was almost designed to make him suck. Like him or not, he has his advantages. He can do things that can jump start an offense. Now, sometimes those things are destructive and counterproductive, but if you're going to get anything worthwhile out of him, you have to take those chances I think. If you're going to leave him sit in the pocket to hand off or dump easy passes, well you still live with a decent amount of risk AND you don't get to reap the advantages.

I didn't think it was a good idea preseason, or even after Week 1, but unless they try to use Jake in a way that can actually help, there's no reason at all not to play Cutler.

And don't go hating on Shannon Sharpe. Just because he makes for an embarassing studio guy doesn't mean he wasn't a badass!!

Yeah, thank God he broke his finger. I was afraid if he started to play on a regular basis and put up some average numbers, ESPN would lose interest. Now, thank the Lord, we can be updated each and every single day.

I'm not thrilled. I'm pissed. I was giddy with the prospect of Shanahan's world being fucked up this morning. I really can't stand anything about Denver, from Satan to Grizzly Adams to Mushmouth to Horseface. But I'm slightly more hopeful than if it would've been a 28-3 blowout.

I'm not sure what you can't figure out. Living in the KC market, you surely understood the Chiefs fans' thinking. Going to Denver --a place they haven't won in since 2000-- without the quarterback who started the team's previous 81 games and with a career back-up who hadn't won since Nov. 2000...it seemed anything less than a 40-point defeat would be progress. Instead, Chiefs fans saw a solid game plan from Edwards, a solid game from Johnson, a solid defense, and, for four quarters, a quiet Invesco. It wasn't a win, but it was a hopeful loss, unlike the previous week's.

It's a sad day when you are a two-time pro bowler, have thrown for more than 4,000 yards and acquired a 90.0+ quarterback rating in three-straight seasons, yet you haven't "amounted to anything". Poor Trent Green.

Nice post fuckhead. Yeah, Trent Green is a horrendous quarterback who's never done a fucking thing. He's only engineered one of the most efficient offenses in NFL history the past few years. Not his fault he didn't have a defense that could stop anyone.

    Trent Green = Jeff George.

And I could be mistaken, but wasn't there a Trent (Dilfer) who was a Super Bowl winning quarterback?
