That was one of the strangest things I've ever seen in college football recruiting. Wasn't he the No. 1 player in the country coming out of high school, or was he just the No. 1 QB?

Gruden would be a great hire. Doubt Pryor will stay though. Too bad. Gruden could really help him.

That must mean the ink is already dry on the new MNF extension he just signed and it's time for another extension.

He was right at the top. Top 10 pertty much across the board.

Has anyone mentioned him playing basketball in his year off if the NBA locks him out for a year? For as good as he is at football, we was pretty amazing at basketball.

I would love to see an NBA team take him with a second round pick.

Thank you. That's what I got out of that clip. Too many players don't take the proper angles to make a downfield tackle.

Re: Candidates list. Chris Spielman on ESPN Radio today mentioned Tony Dungy along with the usual suspects. I think its an interesting choice and his clean image might help in this situation.

    Dungy would get eaten alive.

He wouldn't know what hit him.

Do believe he's smart enough not to give it a millisecond's consideration.

Don't forget the primary, aching, Walker flaw . . . almost-exclusively a north/south runner. Lost virtually all of his edge when asked to cut.

As a north/south runner, a marvel. But there's that pesky other side of the coin . . .

Dickerson and Franco Harris made nice careers running North/South.

Franco's best non-north/south move was running out of bounds.

True, but he could fly down a sideline.

Gruden is nuts to want this job, but Pryor is nuts if he does not stay an extra year with Gruden as his coach.

Dungy doesn't seem to want coach again ... at least not anytime soon.

Don't know why people go nuts over Gruden everytime a job opens, especially a college job.

I suspect it is Fikell's job to lose. If he has a good year and wants to stay, end of story.

If he has a rough year (distinct possibility), then maybe they go outside and look for a savior like Meyer.
