Maybe he figured he was better off waiting for Supplemental draft after all the other QB's were drafted.

Is he quick enough to play wide receiver? He was impressive on that TD catch against Texas as a freshman.

He's more than fast enough to play wide receiver. In fact, he projects as a better NFL receiver right now than he does as an NFL QB. He runs a sub 4.4 40.

I can't speak to what he was hearing about his draft prospects, but personally I wouldn't have spent more than a fourth-round pick for him as a QB, and I'd feel like I was reaching.

That's probably why he didn't declare. His athleticism isn't going anywhere. And with the prospect of no NFL season, he probably figured he had more to gain by possibly waiting than he might lose.

Matt Millen thinks Pryor could interest some NFL teams at quarterback.

Well, if there's anyone whose opinion is a valid one when it comes to valuing a player's NFL prospects, it's Matt Millen.

The problem with Pryor is that I don't think he's very smart to begin with, and I don't think there is anyone around him (family, friends, coaches, teammates) who can get through to him or are smart enough to know what is in his best interests.

Like him driving a shiny new ride with temp tags to a team meeting as he's being investigated for his car dealings, for example.

He must be pretty smart. He not only got into a university, he got into THE Ohio State University. I'm sure it had to do with his test scores, right? It couldn't be because he was 6-6, 230, ran a 4.4 40 and probably could be starting for the Buckeyes basketball team as well.

Funny, on his TOSU biography it says his major is "Exploring," which is code for "undeclared," which is code for "Why do I even have to go to class, can't I just play football and drive my new cars, already?" A senior with no declared major.

He seems like a fine kid and I'm sure is a great friend, teammate and player to coach, but this is just another case of an athlete playing the system for all it's worth. A system that never questioned anything and never would have.

As Bob Seger would describe athletes like Pryor:

"I used her she used me
    But neither one cared
    We were getting our share"

Yes, all you speculators, Terrelle Pryor is not smart. He actually has a confidence problem when speaking and relies on a lot of non-verbal cues and behaviors (touching the hand, gestures, etc.). He can be a very nice kid in the right situation, but most of the time is surrounded by people he feels he has to impress. But as far as football speed is concerned, watching him up close in full pads he is the fastest football player I have seen since Deion Sanders. He runs with minimal effort, and when he turns it on there is no one in the NFL that will be able to catch him. And his hands are massive. I have seen him dribble a football on the turf at Ohio Stadium like it was a basketball. Try that sometime and let me know what kind of hands you think that takes. He could be a Hall of Fame receiver or a back-up quarterback. I think the choice is fairly obvious.

He was Big Ten all-academic though, so I give him that. Test driving those cars takes some brainpower.

Schools rarely update majors from the time the player enters as a freshman. If he's undeclared when he starts college, you don't often get an SID to go back and change it later. That just slips through the cracks.
