That's not all that slipped through the cracks at OSU.

  2. As much as I hold Matt Millen in high regard, how could Pryor NOT get any consideration as an NFL QB? He is comparable to Cam Newton except he has more experience and played in a more restrictive offense.
Physically I think they are close - close enough that an NFL team will take a look at him at QB and get off much, much cheaper than the dumbass Panthers.
FWIW: I think both Pryor and Newton will have similar NFL careers.

Always playing under a shadow that haunts them from their college days?

I'm not blaming Pryor. He knew the system, the one that most big-time athletes know and milk and love, and he played it to the hilt until he got caught. The same one that most of us fans know exists but give the quick wink, wink and nod to. There is a very easy solution to this, but one that has no chance in hell of happening: Do what the Ivy League does and don't give athletic scholarships. Quit the BS and just say, yes 85 percent of our football players have no interest in class or school and only care about football. Make football or basketball or cross country the major and quit wasting time trying to pretend they are student-athletes.

Terrelle Pryor is nowhere near the QB Cam Newton is, at least right now. Newton is a much more accurate passer. He may be an NFL bust, but he is way more polished as a pocket passer than Pryor is, in terms of his decisions and his fundamentals. I'll agree with anyone who says that Pryor is the better athlete. But Newton is the better football player.

What also should be done and done at every turn is use Tim Duncan and Florida State's Myron Rolle as examples of how student-athletes should conduct themselves as students as athletes as people.

By the time the kids get to college it's too late for that. Pryor didn't become a douchebag after he enrolled at OSU. He was already one when he got there.

    I
I'm talking about kids 10, 12 years old. Yes, by the time they get to college it might be too late for a lot. Emphasize players like Duncan and Rolle instead of LeBron and Pryor. I would have said Tiger a few years ago, but ya know he has more driving problems than Pryor.

Pryor is the fastest person you have seen play since Deion Sanders? You probably aren't watching a lot of football. You're telling me he's faster than Chris Johnson? That he's faster than Denard Robinson and Michael Vick? Come on man!

I'm not sure the LeBron comparison is a fair one. I dealt with him a lot at AAU events when he was in high school and thought he was incredibly mature at the time, at least by comparison to the other players.

It took him a few years in the NBA to become a douchebag. :D

Yes, everyone loved LeBron and that was part of the problem. Nobody told him No and they should have. They still don't tell him No.

The guys I am talking about are stellar and should be held in high esteem for youth, especially black youth. But are they? Doubtful.

Tim Duncan should be 10 times as popular as LeBron, but he is boring and boring doesn't sell.

Myron Rolle will be a doctor and was a Rhodes Scholar in addition to being a pretty darn good safety at Florida State.

    Both are philanthropists.
