You must have missed his post on the other thread about how Ali did nothing in the past 30 years but pad his wife's bank account.

 

Your obession with hating the Clintons seems unhealthy, it's certainly annoying but somehow amusing. And you seem to be a good dude.

But your pivot to defending all things Trump is silly and just rooting for the Red Team.

Trump said he wants a religious test. He didn't specify where a person is from. And Ali was an athlete and a Muslim. Trump said they didn't exist.

I'm not looking for a personal beef here. But, as with many of Trump's statements, this is indefensible.

 

Ali would have never won the gold medal without his conversion to Islam.

 

You should probably go back and look at what Trump said.

 

This isn't as much about Ali as it is about two idiotic Trump positions. He's firmly dedicated to something, until he's not. He never thinks anything through before he vomits it out at a rally or on Twitter.

He did walk it back the next day w/r/t U.S. citizens, because that's what you do when you are a prejudiced megalomaniac that just makes shit up on the fly and then count on your ability to make up so much shit that nobody spend the time to thoroughly investigate and discredit any one particular piece. And too, he knows he has a solid base of supportters that will ignore or even defend every lie and evil thought he spews because they blindly support him and/or the GOP uncritically, like a middle schooler devoted to a favorite sports team.

 

More and more, I get the feeling that if Trump wins - and I think he probably will - then Paul Ryan will be the real president. Trump just wants this because it's the ultimate line on his resume of lifelong success. He doesn't want to do the damn job.
