Reid's accuracy aside (Clarence Thomas, of course, isn't white), it is much different. Reid was saying men shouldn't be making decisions for women (read his full quote). Trump is saying those of Mexican heritage shouldn't be making decisions on others. There is historical context behind Reid's statement. There isn't behind Trump's.
