Amen. Also goes to something I've been saying since it was first discovered Trump cheated at golf. What is Republican belief nowadays? The "true conservative" crowd led by Kristol? The Reagan crowd? Small government/big business/bug military types? The religious right? This is the time the party can define itself, or redefine itself. Instead, it's whatever gets us elected.

Yeah, standing for winning elections above all else is relatively new to politics. It's a bad look.

Funny thing is, Trump isn't pandering to win an election. He really is an ignorant asshole. And he's proving a huge bloc of Americans are ignorant assholes too.

You'd have to be pretty ignorant yourself to just be coming to the realization that a lot of Americans are ignorant.

They should have thought about that when they gained control of Congress with their own mandate. You know about mandates, the same thing Obama said he had at 53-47 percent.

Like the ones who are watching today's Ali memorial service and the Jewish Rabbi and NOT seeing this as a Democratic Party rally? I'd rather be called ignorant than without dignity.

Don't people have jobs? Who has time to watch and critique the Ali memorial service?

Maybe, but they weren't always so proud of it.

And a lot of them used to be fundamentally decent people.

Perhaps. But that "lot" didn't used to be enough for a guy like Trump to win a major party presidential nomination. Once there were enough rational voters to ensure the candidate of our most ignorant and racist was merely a fringe candidate. Now that guy wins.
