This is the most baffling aspect of the whole deal to me.

Just proves that large swaths of this country are stupid and pissed off, but they don't know exactly where to channel their anger. He gives them an outlet that lacks nuance or any need to research the issues. He's pointing out The Other and saying, "That guy's the reason you don't have it as well as everyone else."

And yet, they don't actually counter my points.

As I've said multiple times, if I'm wrong, then tell my why am I am wrong. Use actual facts related to the discussion. Don't throw childish "you're stupids" or use useless buzzwords or slogans. Go ahead and make an actual argument to counter me.

    Agree.

Fox, CNN et.al. have conditioned us to view politics as entertainment and many voters will treat the process in kind. Couple that with the near-complete abdication of the Senate's and Congress' responsibilities to their respective constituents and I don't think many voters believe it matters who's in charge at this point.

I tend to view GOP voters, by and large, as being more loyal to party than their niche ideals and feel they will eventually get behind anyone going up against The She-Devil From Arkansas. With the exception of the union vote (and that may be on shaky ground), Democratic voters veer more towards being ideologues and will simply disengage in the process if there is no candidate that addresses every pet issue. I also think a good number of Sanders supporters are simply rooting for chaos and upheaval in any form, even if that form is Trump.

I think many of what used to be called "country club Republicans" will have a tough time accepting Trump if he's the nominee, and the actual one percenters might well prefer Hillary where they will at least have a seat at the table to Trump, who can't be controlled and who won't have a table at all.

The White House is going to look a bit different with 30 floors and a casino in the basement.

Basement! It'll be right in the portico with one-way glass installed.

Working class, white Dems will go with Trump over Hillary.
