Yeah, @Double Down, what you aren't understanding is that this was reflected of a positive attribute of his candidacy.

 

Well, I can think of one broad (and distasteful, to me) reason ... We're no longer electing a President. We're electing something close to a monarch, albeit for a limited term. And the people doing the electing really want to size up the President-to-be's spouse.

 

"We" don't do anything. The people asking us to put them in charge do it. And they do it to "humanize" the candidate. They accept the downside of something like this happening.

 

No seriously, you don't think this campaign is lazy? Be real please. I mean, I've admitted countless times that the Clintons are habitual line steppers. Over and over again. You really think it's "ignorance" that led us to last night?

I think it's laziness. To the Trump campaign, it's not laziness so much as it's avoiding expending energy on something that's unimportant (e.g., originality or intellectual honesty).

 

I vote laziness AND ignorance.

 

This I agree with. She will have lost to this clown and a guy many thought was (a) Muslim (b) socialist (c) Kenyan.

 

At this point I'm not sure that would make a dent in the 35%.
