If the campaign didn't have a history of missteps and lazy mistakes, that might be believable. But given the way it has been run - RTing white supremacists, the TP logo that was universally mocked, etc. - then I think it's safer to chalk it up as yet another error.

The Trump campaign is a reflection of one of the most distressing aspects of modern society: Our acceptance of "good enough." We don't demand quality anymore, especially if it costs us more money. Whatever it takes to get the product out, and cover any weakness with a slogan of some sort. "Well, at least the Trump campaign isn't wasting its money on graphic designers - that proves to me he's focused on what's actually important, and that's Making America Great Again." "They don't need to be wasting time vetting speeches -- they need to focus on Making America Great Again." This attitude permeates business, permeates culture, permeates everything -- the belief that attention to detail is somehow a waste of time and resources. As long as we get our Everyday Low Prices, we as a society are OK with whatever comes of that. Trump is a living, breathing, bloviating Everyday Low Price.
