I agree that Cruz did not help his 2020 position by his speech last night but 2016 was his best chance at the White House, anyway.

 

Wil be interesting to watch how different the tone of the DNC will be. Should be a perfect complement to Sunshine's ridiculous argument about the hatefulness of MALs while spewing all the shit he has on this thread.

 

A presidential campaign is, if nothing else, a chance to see a candidate's executive skills in action. If Trump runs a country like he has been running this convention, that will not be pretty.

I fully expect Clinton or Trump to face a primary challenge in 2020, which will roughly coincide with an impeachment hearing.

 

Trump couldn't lose by having Ted speak. If Ted endorses him, Trump wins. If Ted doesn't endorse him, the crowd shouts him down and it has a galvanizing effect, so Trump wins.

Ted's best play would've been to not show up at all. Instead, he got suckered into a trap by his desire to make a 2020 campaign speech and got his eyeliner smeared.
