    From talking with a politics editor, the issue with picking Kaine is the Dems worry about losing his Senate seat.

    Indeed. If a prominent Republican like, say, Ted Cruz didn't support the GOP's nominee, it's hard to imagine him getting any blowback from the nominee, the party establishment, or the rank and file. Then again, we'll never know, will we?
