Cheap shot ! It's American politics. What I like about this election is that people
are engaged from all sides. We have not seen that in the past 2 elections.

This might have been the closest followed primary and most engaged. It was great even if we ended up with candidates people are less than thrilled with. I just hope this enthusiasm carries over.

Let's be straight here. There is nothing to like about this election. There is no kernel of positivity to be gleaned from it. Choosing the lesser of two evils is no way for a country of this magnitude to be selecting a president.

And you had enthusiasm in party conventions for years and years. I don't count cheerleading to be part of what's going to keep America on the plus side.

    Would you prefer apathy?

It's not just that. The last 8 years have been, all told, pretty benign. It wasn't like Carter's 4 years, which was just gut punch after another.

But it was framed as a nightmare. That's the only reason Trump is here. Conservatives don't get that. Well the conservative politicians do, but they couldn't stop Ted Cruz et al from being asswipes, and they'd already indulged the Tea Party/right-wing media for all it was worth to trash Obama.

Notice how the Tea Party is gone? Heard anything about the fucking Tea Party lately, the movement promoted and propped up by the right-wing media? No need. There's Trump.

Oh, wait - I have. In this headline:

Could the Bernie movement spawn a progressive Tea Party?

You don't have to champion one or the other, enthusiasm or apathy. It's important in some things. It's a weak way to judge a presidential election.

Trump flipped on McCain being a war hero!

(If you count a dismissive "yeah, fine" when asked about it.)

You can't possibly be stupid enough to not know the difference between a executive orders making a day "National Dairy Appreciation Day" and executive orders telling ICE to stop enforcing laws. It's not the number, it's the content.

A vote for Trump is apathy. It's a rejection for giving a shit because you're so disgusted with the system you'd like to see it go fuck itself.

Your opinion on the overreach of Bush's executive order blocking stem-cell research? Or the one allowing oil companies to operate outside the judicial system in Iraq?

It's really fun to watch people who would never vote GOP in a million years tell the people who would what their vote means.

You're a Cruz guy who thinks Trump is a clown. Remember?
