    DAMN.

Talk about picking part of a sentence out of context.

That's about the most blatant case of missing the point I've seen on this board. And that's saying a hell of a lot.

No, it was rejection of the premise.

Not for the sake of argument, not for the sake of discussion, not for the sake of shits and giggles, let's not give Donald Daughterfucker Trump the benefit of the doubt, at all, on anything, ever.

There is a reason why places like Arizona, North Carolina and Georgia are in play for the Democrats this time around—plus with possible inroads into Utah, Missouri and South Carolina and if you squint Texas. It has everything to do with the just abhorrent language from Trump. He is going to lose badly in November (short of Hillary doing something just mindbogglingly stupid) and it's because his language has disqualified him. He talks fast and loose about minorities, women and our military and it's biting him in the ass. This will go down as one of the worst campaigns run by a candidate in US history and it will be at least in the conversation for the worst run campaign.

Sane(ish) people will take his 2nd amendment comment as a call to political action, such as lobbying Congress hard to block Hillary's proposals, judges and the like. And honest to God I hope that is what he was trying to say. The dangerous thing is it takes one deranged person to take it literally and try to shoot Clinton. Hell, some guy thought Catcher in the Rye told him to kill John Lennon.

Clinton said something she shouldn't have eight years ago, but it wasn't on this level. She basically meant to say "it isn't over until it's over," you never are guaranteed of anything in life and she should at least play the game out until the very end. She cited RFK because he was going to run away with the nomination until he was killed. It was tragic and the wrong way to make her point and she wasn't nominated by the Democrats. Hell, her shenanigans might have cost her a VP bid. Clinton said Obama could drop dead tomorrow. Trump's words implied someone should shoot Clinton. Those aren't the same thing. Both bad, but not the same thing.

Which seemed like a very real possibility at the time.

Long way from "might kill" to "should kill." But whatever fits the agenda.

Too many people think using good manners makes you politically correct.

The "that will be a terrible day" part was referring to the day Clinton nominated a SCOTUS justice, not the day someone looked for a Second Amendment solution to the problem.
