I think it's likely that he would not shake the hand of a Jew. And, in addition, he was probably an asshole disappointed by his defeat.

But because I'm not an blanket idiot, I'm not to going to assign these motives to an entire religion that billions of people around the world practice, the majority of which do not advocate violence and would prefer to end 2000 years of tension and conflict between the two religions.

And even if I were to stipulate that this man's actions were a reflection of the Muslim faith, this would not justify me discriminating against all Muslims based on what I thought they might do or feel or think.

And in all seriousness, I will never understand how a normally thoughtful person makes the incredible leap from discussing the realities of any religion to "discriminating against all" its adherents.

That would be like saying anyone who spoke to the Catholic Church's problem with sex abuse is discriminating against all Catholics.

It's a lazy and intellectually dishonest response to reality.
