Trump cheats at golf - the ONE and ONLY politics thread

Americans like Donald Trump. They always have, for some reason. It's why his public image is able to survive one lurid scandal after another. It's why he can ramble through the primary contests without doing any homework whatsoever. In the end, people like him, and it's why he is more likely than not to be president. Hillary Clinton is cold and secretive and above it all. Trump is jovial and open. Ultimately, that matters more than anything else. It's the "have a beer with" test.

 

That's about as ridiculous a take as you've ever given, Dick. If Americans like Trump so much, why are his unfavorable so high? The overriding reality of this election, the one that makes it so unstable and close is that both candidates are unpopular. Otherwise, Johnson and Stein would be drawing less than one percent each.

 

The problem with Hillary's "basket of deplorables" comment was that it was accurate regarding his primary voters, but not regarding his general election voters, which are essentially just garden variety Republican voters.

 

I agree that people say they don't like him.

 

The ticker is a nice touch.

 

What could be better than Trump winning the election?

Winning it while losing the popular vote.

 

Dude, this was a HUGE scandal at the time, and more than a dozen senior administration officials lost their jobs over it.

It didn't get swept under the rug any more than Hillary's kerfuffle did.
