Court of law and court of public opinion are two very different birds.

If you're dealing in bird law, you need a very serious lawyer, because bird law in this country is not governed by reason.

The Canadian vote may just tilt this thing in Trump's favor.

No, you said anyone with a functioning brain would not submit to an FBI search without a warrant or immunity. The vast majority of Americans have not been in that situation and probably haven't given it any thought. What they see are people who work for a candidate getting immunity from the feds or taking the Fifth before Congress or a court. I'll bet a whole lot of people with functioning brains see the potential for something shady going on -- especially after the FBI director's scathing report, which basically said Hillary's actions would have violated the law if there had been intent.

Tell you what. Let's find the latest poll and see what percentage of Americans find her dishonest and untrustworthy. I'm going to say that's a pretty good estimate of how many are looking at this and seeing something fishy. Some of them might vote for her anyway, but I think your assessment of what this looks like to the average person is way off.

There's a large (perhaps equally large) group that sees this as political persecution and believes you'd have to be crazy as all fuck to give them so much as the name of your kindergarten teacher.

Do you even realize you're working yourself into a tizzy trying to tell me what you think I think and that your imagined version of what I think is somehow more valid than what I actually think? It's kind of silly.
