Fahrenthold’s story proved to be the most concurrently viewed article in the history of The Post’s website; more than 100,000 people read it simultaneously at one point on Friday. The interest was so heavy that it briefly crashed the servers of the newspaper’s internal tracking system.

A caller had a lewd tape of Donald Trump. Then the race to break the story was on.

Boy, Trump really sounded sincere in his video statement. And, of course, can't help himself, even reading from a script, to bring up Bill Clinton.

Bill Clinton is not running for president.

Now it really looks good that he didn't go down in the dirt and talk about Bill's past during the debate.....

This is also why vetting exists - even for state senate races.

I've been in the NeverTrump camp since Rubio faded and this is close to what I expected. A Hillary presidency with a Democratic Senate in 2016 that will become a Republican Senate In 2018 will essentially be what we have now. No major complaints.

you've gone from hating Trump, to blindly defending the pig. Puddy would be proud, gotta support the team.

In his statement, he whines that the tape is from 11 years ago. Then attacks Bill Clinton for actions 20 years ago.

Why did it take so long to put out that piece of shit statement?

Clearly they needed to get the best background and lighting available.

"See you at the debate on Sunday" is a good closing line.

    Oh yes. We'll be watching.

I'll give Trump credit, he apologized. He obviously wants to try to win this, even though he can't and won't.

"But what about Bill Clinton" isn't an argument that will lead to him winning the election, but it can probably rally the base enough to keep him on his pace for his 51-46 loss instead of being thrown overboard.

If he gets 46 percent, it's sad (SAD!). Not saying he won't. But this guy should get 30 percent, max. And that's still sad. (SAD!)

It's very sad. But I've made as much peace with it as I can.
