He's not going to top out at 40 percent of Republicans in the general election.

 

I'm not sure either way. But that's the base line. My suspicion is that it's not impossible for him to reach that, considering who his opponent will be.

 

True. The question is how many of them stay home or hold their noses and vote for Hillary.

 

That's not fair. People fleeing their homes out of necessity, to save their lives and the lives of their families are neither good nor bad because of their immigration status. Those fleeing poverty and desperation and political corruption in their home countries are neither good nor bad because of that.

 

I'm not saying that I agree with him.

 

Possible? Yes. Likely? Not particularly.

But the posit was that Trump has made "statements" that are "blatantly racist."

Where is your line on "blatant"? Calling Mexicans wetbacks?
