Except she's already said or intimated that a number of things, like Obamacare and the economy, are not all that good.

What the Democrats have done since 2006 is political genius. I'll admit this. Take anger over Iraq to win Congress, talk down a strong economy before 2008 and, once in office, then talk up a lousy economy.

On one hand, they say the economy is better than it is while Democrats have been able to convince nearly every person under 30 that the stock market is evil and will rip them off. All while pointing out to those of us over 40 that the stock market is at an all time high. Different messages for different audiences.

We are back on the edge of the bubble. I'd rather have Clinton in there, economically. I make good money - not 1 percent of course - but Trump would be a disaster for the markets.

Republicans do need a major rebrand. I know this and see it. So much of their base is made up of older white people who are in the consumption phase of their economic lives. Not the production phase. Too many of them don't understand that hard work isn't enough to keep a job or a stable career in 2016. They whine and wonder why their grown kid runs into unemployment through no fault or his or her own.

I think more Republicans are getting out of the business of running other peoples' lives. That's a step in the right direction. When they've kept it to the economy, they've made strides in 2010 and 2014.

Yet the presidential cycles are a disaster for them. Republicans can only gerrymander so much.

Fascinating thing about Trump: Think about how much he loves to be praised. It's why he loves Putin.

So Clinton says he has nice children. (I can't imagine how racist troll Don Jr. fits into that compliment, but Eric and Ivanka and Tiffany and I suppose Baron seem nice enough.)

So then Trump, clearly glowing over this remark, gushes about what a fighter Hillary is. How she never quits. After spending weeks about how little stamina she has, he talks about what a fighter she is. All because she said something nice about him, and got to go first. Had he gone first, there is no way he says that.

I mean... wow. This man needs therapy (or needed it 40 years ago) worse than any successful person on earth.

Wonder if Pence is being drafted as a "true conservative" write-in? (And good luck with that with 30 days to go). Or he's just bailing ship to keep his butt clean for a run at 2020?

Just saw "she has hate in her heart".

    Good lord, Don.

Hillary is nothing more than Claire Underwood. But she's a hell of a lot more stable than Trump.

Pence withdrawing would not be the first time. It happened in 1972 with Shriver replacing Eagleton on McGovern's ticket (which happened in August). But a withdrawal this late would be uncharted waters for sure.

Thirty days is still a long time, so I'm not quite that confident. Trump improving a little bit in this debate is probably a good thing, so democrats stay focused and GOTV.

It seems like Clinton's plan was to play mistake-free ball tonight and see if Trump was a total disaster and imploded. He didn't. But we begin tomorrow basically where we started today. It's a wash, nobody's mind was changed by this.

Was hoping Hillary would do her little shimmy again.

    That comparison resonated with me.

She actually has a great argument here. She can point to the Clinton and Obama administrations and say that she was actively involved, that they've done great work to lay foundations for many projects. But now is the time for someone else to come in and improve on the foundation.

That's exactly her argument with healthcare. The ACA bridged the gap for those who never had it to begin with because it was too expensive. Now the problem becomes making healthcare less expensive for companies to provide, especially small businesses, and more affordable for people to have.

There's a great stat that floats around that the majority of people want to get rid of Obamacare. What people ignore is the follow up question as to why they want it gone: More people believe Obamcare didn't do enough than believe it was actually bad or too much.

People want better and more affordable care and using the ACA as a base does that. A return to relying just on insurance companies does not, and Clinton nailed that topic while Trump cast about aimlessly.

    Trump is a narcissist.

He doesn't give a fuck what happens outside of his bubble.

Calling for locking Clinton up was awesome. He spoke to his base and fed them what they want. Show us what you are, Donald.
