That would be one long story. Perhaps a five-part series? Or a double-truck, like that list of all the groups Trump insulted.

Wouldn't surprise me if that "we need a true consevative" like of thinking comes back in 2020 (perhaps even the midterms in 2018) and the Trump campaign gets the Winston Smith treatment.

No, they can't do that unless he loses and goes away of his own volition, which could happen as his attention span is not lengthy.

Good thing she doesn't have to vote for either of them.

Here's one for you. Steve Schale, the Florida Democratic demographic and vote modeling guy, said today he ran thousands of simulations to test his model for this year. One of them came back with a tie. Not 50-50, an actual tie out of 9.2 million imaginary votes cast. How would they break one should it happen? I propose penalty kicks.

Given that many votes, you'd never know it if that (half of the voters voted for A and half voted for B) actually happened. While there isn't much in the way of measurement error as re: votes, there's not none either. That means that when the election's really close, the measurement error's larger than the difference (if any) between the two candidates' vote shares. If there's no difference, this disparity is at its maximum.

So if the result (not the actual one, but the one we observe) was 50-50 (which could happen), there'd be a recount ... and then there'd be another recount ... and then there'd be another recount ... and, conceivably, each recount would result in a unique result.

    Like who?

Who approaches Trump's level of despicability but has kept it hidden while getting thisclose to the presidency?
