How is he going to get to bill someone else for riding around in that?

Trump needs to neutralize him, like Obama did with Clinton.

Appoint him to the SCOTUS. Name him Attorney General or White House counsel.

Indeed. Some things can knock some serious tread off your tires, but in the grand scheme of things, an election not going your way generally won't be one of them.

I guess if there's any silver lining for me, it's that Rubio won re-election by over 700,000 votes in Florida (a hell of a wider margin than Trump vs. Clinton) and, more importantly in my home state, Rob Portman cleaned Ted Strickland's clock by over one million (over twice what Trump beat Hillary here). Granted, it has something to do with their lousy opponents, but it comforts me to know moderate R's in down ballots outperformed Trump.

"Kiddo, you need to do your homework and study hard for that test tomorrow."
"Screw that you big dummy, President Trump thinks doing your homework is for suckers!"

It is true that the Trump victory was a rebuke for the anti-fact liberal crowd. Obama to his credit, spoke out against the worst of the SJW excesses but the Democratic establishment/media never backed him up. While it is embarrassing to have a clown for a president, I am hoping our corporate overlords will keep him on a leash.

In all seriousness, I'd like to thank everybody on this thread for keeping me entertained and informed during this election cycle. I'd gladly buy any of you a beer or a mochafrappalatte from one of YF's locations.

I hope we can keep shooting the bull here now that the election is over.

One has to wonder, though, if this might empower further the likes of McConnell and other obstructionists. As we've seen, Trump isn't a traditional Republican, bordering on RINO on a lot of issues. Trump proposes something that their base doesn't like, and it's back to the four corners offense.

Exactly, dq. (Sorry, I'm having trouble with the quote function for some reason.)
That is my first response to all this, to use it as a teachable moment for my daughter.

I'm just going to say again, this is one man. His most outrageous ideas will not see the light of day because cooler heads will prevail. Checks and balances did not die last night.

I pressed the nuclear scare button once or twice, and I'm sorry I did. A whole hell of a lot would have to go down before we need to worry about that.

We meet with our daughter's surgeon in three hours to find out if she need surgery to control her aspirations, reflux, and aspirating her reflux.

My joy in Trump's win is moderated by uncertainty in what kind of president he will be.

But, big picture, today's news will IMPACT me much more than last night's.
