It's too exhausting to go on talking folks off the ledge. In 2016, I've lost a job, I've lost a cat, I've struggled to find another job, I've worried about my health, I've worried about health insurance, I've worried about my daughter's impending divorce and I've spent too much time watching CNN. I'm not going to worry about shit as much. If you have to, vaya con Dios.

Just more overblown nonsense. And I suspect the Oval Office won't be decorated with swastikas, either.

Markets always correct their first overreaction. It'll be months before Trump's policies, whatever they might be, really affect them.

I voted for Hillary as a vote against Trump. Her being president isn't what I ultimately wanted.

I felt, and continue to feel, it would be an embarrassment that a man of his indecency would represent us in front of the world.

Dude, you should just be admitting just how wrong you were about now, shouldn't you? o_O

I'm with Vombatus there. It could've been that it was a close race and there was a desire to wait and see, and I didn't begrudge her that time last night. But really, now, I have to think she was left well and truly, um, speechless, and had nothing to say. Truly.

This result was incredible, given the polls, the seeming divisiveness and negativity of Trump, and the narrow path he had to reach 270. Who would've thought that, in the end, it was her path that would become even narrower than his? It seemed impossible.

And who would've thought that there would be reports of protests by Clinton supporters in the wake of the election? It's so ironic.

I posted last month that there might actually be more "shy conservatives"/potential Trump voters than anyone might realize, and I think that certainly turned out to be so. Apparently, there were an awful lot of people who were going to vote for Trump who simply weren't letting on, perhaps because of possible brush-back, attacks, arguments, etc., in which, unlike Yankee Fan, they didn't want to engage. Or, there truly were many who were undecided right up until the last minute, and just stepped into the ballot box and picked him, almost as if on a lark, or by playing eany-meany, miney-mo. Which, somewhere in the course of this thread, I also suggested might happen.

In the end, I didn't vote for either Trump or Clinton. But this result is just stunning, and yes, intriguing, even the morning after. Frankly, I thought even the President-elect, and his family and supporters on-stage last night looked kind of stunned, too.

The person who I think is really right, though, is President Obama. Ultimately, everything will be OK, no matter who is in the White House.

So half the country is racist/sexist? But it wasn't racist when Barack Obama won two terms?

Quant, both Trump and the Republican Congress have promised to repeal Obamacare. That means all the people on Medicaid expansion won't get any anymore. That's like 12-14 million people. That has to lead to some fatal negative health outcomes. It's not bullshit. It's going to happen.

Yes. The racists did not vote then. This time they voted and not as many non-racists voted.

You had it together for a moment, Michael, but your sky is falling again.
