Here's his quote, via Baron and the LA Times:

"Let me be as blunt and as direct as I can be," Gingrich said on Thursday. "Western civilization is in a war. We should frankly test every person here who is of Muslim background and if they believe in sharia, they should be deported. Sharia is incompatible with Western civilization."

Sharia is a legal framework. That's it's interrelated with a religion is irrelevant. To become a citizen, you take an oath of allegiance to the Constitution of the United States, and renounce all other allegiances.

Seems to me that if you think that insulting Muhammad deserves death, or if you'd behead your own daughter for having pre-marital sex, and we have the means to deport you, we probably should.

I held my nose and voted for Hillary.

The reactions have been over the top dramatic. Nut up.

Unconstitutional. Freedom on speech freedom of religion; you can THINK whatever you want, it's the "marketplace of ideas"; you can't ACT for it. That's what freedom is.

YF, where does it say that the person of Muslim background is a naturalized citizen?

And by that logic, if Roe vs Wade is overturned, should we deport citizens who believe in abortion rights?

Hey, I'm not happy. But I have "nutted up" thank you very much. But I also don't blame people for this reaction.

If you're a minority, gay, really anything other than well-off and white, your rights likely are about to be taken away.

If there's ever a reason for a strong reaction, this is it.

Anyone who voted for Trump has to own the fact that they're racist and anti-gay. You didn't. Good for you.

    No he's not.

Don't repeat silliness. You're smarter than this.

Must be the white patriarchal privilege. You're not getting deported, raped, burnt at the stake, or stoned tomorrow.

Worship a flying spaghetti monster if you like. Pray any way you'd like.

But, you need to follow our laws and constitution.

If you want to enforce Sharia law on your family or others, you shouldn't be here.

Pamala Geller has the right to draw all the Muhammad cartoons she wants.
