And yet, Trump sounded quite humble, especially for him, in his post-election speech, and I thought he made a good, real attempt at graciousness, to everyone -- even Hillary Clinton. I didn't care that he went from calling her a liar and corrupt during the election to saying, post-election, that we all owe her a debt of thanks for her service. This IS politics, after all. And besides, he was right on both counts.

Maybe it's time people quit thinking or suggesting that "Trump made me do it," or will make people do it, or that they have a license to do it, and, you know, take responsibility for themselves, and not do it.

    This. Totally this.

And I've wondered if the people doing it actually all voted. I'd bet not.

This is, in fact, the very definition of hysteria.

And so your answer is to become that. Makes sense.

Pretty sure those things were happening before Tuesday too. Not saying it's right, and I'm damn sure not happy about the result of the election, but I'm not seeing a cataclysmic uptick in anything that wasn't there on Nov. 7.

My daughter, 22 and gay, is not worried about a Trump administration turning back gay rights. She's worried about guns. And the economy. And I think both of those are legitimate concerns. To the extent that the Deplorables feel emboldened, that'll fade, but they're not any more or less deplorable now than they were last week. And they weren't gonna be, no matter the result.

In 2 years, 11/6/18, the Bernie Bros crowd should get off its ass and help the Dems reclaim the House and/or Senate to neutralize Trump for the final 2 years and then vote for the Dem candidate for president in 2020.

The problem is, 2 years is a long time for these kiddies, and who's going to put together, and execute, the kind of game plan that Priebus did?

I think one of the smartest things Trump can do is to leave gay rights/gay marriage alone and make it clear to other Republicans that it should be a non-issue. The time to fight that battle was two years ago, and conservatives lost. Like it or not, it's now the law of the land and trying to get rid of it at this point is not practical. Too many lives would be upturned for no benefit whatsoever, for one, and for another I believe it would take either a Constitutional amendment (not happening) or another SCOTUS decision (probably also not happening, and even if it did it would take years to reach a conclusion) to overturn.

Plus, all it serves to do is antagonize and galvanize the left. It's a silent bargaining chip. There are bigger and better things to spend your energy on. Let it quietly go away as an issue, show the left that you're not as bad as they think you are, and use that small bit of goodwill to make gains on more important nuts-and-bolts issues.

Without looking, can you name one person who served on the Obama transition team?

Do we think there were any far out lefties, who's views were more extreme than his?

Is there any evidence that the policies or priorities of a member of Obama's transition team became those of the Obama administration? Did Obama change any of his policies or priorities based on the influence of a member of his transition team?
