    Self-driving trucks eat free!

Who would fill them up with gas? I am picturing Emilio Estevez from Maximum Overdrive.

The irony of this election is that it's the greatest example of liberal policy that is most hated by white conservatives Trump is a classic affirmative action hire from a conservative point of view. Unqualified, undereducated, poor moral values and a minority. He was elected as a minority candidate. Less than 50% support and 2nd place on an objective scale.

So much for that battle over state's rights in the 1860s that was in all the history books?

Friend of mine was bitching about Trump AND Hillary all summer. Voted for Johnson. Now very upset, and is going to an anti-Trump rally in Tucson tomorrow.

Yeah, OK. You had a chance once to make a difference, and blew it. Now go protest. Riigghhtt....

Maybe he would have protested Hillary's election, too.

Doubtful. And the would be protestor is a she, by the way. So, I give her some rope to be upset. But still...

Why bother resigning from CNN while you can still suck some milk from that titty?

You are assuming that people voted based on logic. That often is not the case. Some people just voted for change without any real regard for how that change was likely to manifest. People vote against their own interest all the time. Sometimes they do so as a matter of idealism. More often, they do it out of ignorance.

Who the hell are we to tell them what their "own interest" is? You don't know what their values are. Are the Hollywood celebs voting against their "own interest" when they vote for Democrats who are going to tax them? Why isn't Thomas Frank lecturing them for it, too?

I love this. Suddenly, white people in the Midwest got stupid. All at once. For decades, they were the salt of the earth. The "base."
