There's also a huge problem in the Northern/Southern California split. They're no fans of each other, have even talked about splitting up into different states in the past, and most of Southern California gets its water from Northern California. If "California" tries to secede, it's doubtful the entire state as we know it would follow along.

 

The Calexit movement, which has no chance of succeeding, isn't an armed rebellion. It is a referendum to request the other states allow it to leave via Constitutional amendment.

Saw my first Confederate flag in north Orange County today. Probably just reminding people of states rights and supporting Calexit

 

This is a fun parlor game, but that's all. Secession is something brought up by overheated partisans after every election. As independent nations, MAYBE California, New York and Texas could make it,but if they were independent nations would they have gotten so big in the first place?
