Today's going to be the day that Donald Trump reveals that his whole candidacy is an elaborate joke.

    What a sense of humor!

Why would a mental health exception to a late term-abortion law be considered extreme?

The woman is usually seen as supreme in matters that involve both her and the fetus. If only one can live because of a health complication, most doctors choose to save the woman. If a woman is so mentally ill as to say, "give me an abortion or I'll kill myself!" what do you think a doctor should do?

She doesn't need to define it. That determination would need to be left to qualified doctors. She's correctly wary of any attempt to limit abortion.

Does Hillary Clinton agree with this statement:

in an area like partial-birth abortion having a mental, having a health exception can be defined rigorously. It can be defined through physical health, It can be defined by serious clinical mental-health diseases. It is not just a matter of feeling blue.

First, he said that mental health wouldn't apply as an exception.

Then he said it should, but that it should be rigorously defined. (Though no law has ever defined it the way he proposed it, which he knows, and I think we both know he would come out against a proposal that did include such language.)

I am totally down with letting this election be decided based on each candidate's feeling on reproductive rights.

How many third-trimester abortions have been done because of a woman's mental health? Surely there must be some numbers out there that would be so large that it would prove divisive to Dems in a debate.

How late in the game are we talking? At some point, the line between abortion and infanticide is pretty razor thin. No one would argue that you could commit infanticide if you threatened to kill yourself.

The reason I struggle with a mental health exception is that it is not something that is necessarily connected to the pregnancy or giving birth, the way the physical maladies are.

    No he didn't.

I think we all know that Ted Cruz, Donald Trump, and John Kasich believe that sex should be exclusively utilized for procreation.

You don't have to define it as extreme, but if we're going to have the discussion, we should know where she stands.

Is this what you would require of a woman for her to be granted a mental health exemption to a late term abortion ban?

Would you also involuntarily admit her to a mental health facility for a few days, until you were sure she wasn't a danger to herself? That's usually what happens if you declare such an intention.

You make good points until you start attributing motivations and assuming hypothetical actions. That's cheating.

Let me know how many of these cases, if any, there actually are in a given year and I'll let you know whether I think it's worth spending a nanosecond considering.
