Not a Trump supporter in the slightest but to be fair, the question he was answering was "If abortion was made illegal should women who have them be punished". He wasn't suggesting that woman be punished for having legal abortions.

But if he doesn't win the nomination with 35% of the vote, it's a gross debasement of democracy.

For one thing, at first, his party's typical platform is to make them illegal, so there was that. Then, when he tried to modify it, and as he just said, he wants to leave it up to the states. So if some states ban it, is he willing to allow them to put women in jail?

It is, if nobody else gets more than 35 percent.

If an MLB team goes 80-82, but finishes in first place in their division, does that mean that they shouldn't make the playoffs because they didn't win half or more of their games?

He suggested that abortion should be illegal.

He then suggested that, assuming abortion is illegal, women should be punished for them.

Hence, as a principle, women should be punished for having abortions.

If it is, they should ... as a matter of law.

It's always been the public position of the anti-abortion mob that women who undergo the procedure are almost invariably haunted by soul-crushing guilt and remorse the rest of their lives, and thus no additional legal punishment was necessary.

Incest Pig Boy was dropping that conceit and calling for additional punishments.

Of course, TODAY he flopped again, and said "the law should remain as it is."

Which should trigger the ejection seat for the entire fetus-fetishist wing of the GOP, which has demanded a blood oath of reversing Roe since 1980. That's supposed to be a deal killer.

No, she says "I believe that the potential for life begins at conception."

If you're going to rip on her, at least be accurate about it.

And he thinks it should be illegal.

But I do understand your objection to the headlines.

People who kill babies because they would fuck up their weekends aren't capable of guilt.

Awesome. They're murderers. Probably ought to sentence them to death. See how that one flies.
