I was gonna say that I think what's playing out here is conservatives' affinity for rules and bright lines and liberals' affinity for a guideline-based approach. I feel like the answer people are struggling to articulate is that they trust doctors to reach the diagnosis.

I'm actually a very nice person and I genuinely feel sorry for you because you don't seem to understand how to navigate social interactions. You seem intelligent from the baseball threads and so forth. You just get in your own way. Trust me, I have more empathy for you than anyone else here.

 

It's not at all inconsistent. I'm not saying they want more laws. But as a rule, they want laws to have bright lines and leave as little as possible to the discretion of the courts.

 

If they don't want more laws, then why are they continuing to put up any legal obstacle to a ruling with a bright line that says abortion is a Constitutional right?
