Because the left doesn't demand its leaders be 100 percent in lockstep on everything. The left understands politics requires nuance and compromise. The right doesn't believe this, and they have Trump as a result.

 

Because you can't have an honest discussion if people won't reveal their true opinion.

Baron, for instance, pretended for days to be against late term abortion. That turned out not to be true, but it took days just to reveal it.

 

So the alternative is that you just get to assign him whatever position is most convenient to your argument?

 

So, let's get him to comment on some of the proposed legislation out there.

Yeah, I've definitely noticed the left being a particularly big tent when it comes to abortion.

Just talked to Mrs. Whitman, a proud member of "the left."

She believes in a life-of-the-mother exception, but not a health-of-the-mother exception to late-term abortions. She said she doesn't know what "health-of-the-mother" means or would entail.

So there's a woman's opinion. Second-hand, but a woman's opinion nonetheless.
