Actually, the vast majority of the jobs don't need to be "shovel ready" as long as we're projecting our needs realistically and planning. There will be an abundant number of infrastructure jobs to fill for the foreseeable future and there will still be people who are being displaced and entering the job market five and 10 and 20 years down the road.

    And wind turbine service technicians!

    Fastest growing occupations

Just a thought, but shouldn't US-based companies that offshore jobs be made to pay for at least the bulk of any lost jobs/employee retraining? They're reaping the economic benefits in the long run, so my tiny brain thinks they should bear the short-term financial pain of re-education.

If Dell farms their tech support to the Philippines, Dell should kick in for taking care of those displaced US tech support employees. Cost of doing business...

We *all* reap the economic benefits in the long run.

Rhode Island in conjunction with Curt Schilling has been able to redeploy many unemployed factory workers into video game development.

If Dell was smart like Apple they would set up their tech support business so they were able to keep the profits earned off shore.

But I am open to it -- if it works.

Does Hillary have a plan, or is it lip service?

Sasse wants a politician like Trump, but a real conservative.

I bet Hillary's plan will turn lots of former coal miners into wind turbine service technicians.

No, they shouldn't be made to pay. Should newspaper companies have to pay to retrain journalists to be computer programmers?

I thought her plan was to middle-aged miners into coding gurus?
