    Three appeals -- For something this heinous? That strikes me as charitable. I say one -- and only one. And God forbid the prosecution screws up anywhere along the line.

    I'm sure Anne Pressly made many appeals with her attacker and they were denied.
    Death penalty for sure.

    Mine was spoken more in a general sense. Any crime that would lead to a possible death penalty conviction.

    I know somebody who was greatly hurt by this tragedy. Can we please, out of respect for Anne and everybody who knew and admired her, not talk about the frickin' death penalty?

    You're right there, though obviously I'm not in that camp.
    I'm certainly sorry for those affected. However, I would say if anything said on this board upsets you/them, it's best to avoid the board.

    Almost like they are trying to imply she was killed for political leanings.

    I saw two references: One as a drop-in as to why people across the country might know her, and a follow-up in the last graf as background.

    Seems pretty standard.
