Two copy editors needed for SEC football season - Atlanta Journal

Oh, there goes Ty again, overvaluing journalism experience as it relates to blogging/online-only content. It's the difference between, say, Deadspin, and the newspaper you used to get. One makes a lot of money and doesn't require a journalism degree for employment because they believe good content is good content. Which is why the AJC is trying something similar. The site, seccountry.com, if you've seen it, which you haven't, because this is a message board, so all you have to do is supply a dab of snark in place of wit and be patted on the back, is basically trying to be SDS. SDS =/= The Atlantic.

I'd point out that the AJC is, first and foremost, a news organization. The only thing different about this is the publishing format. Particularly for the position of copy editor, journalism skills are going to be required. As are people skills. For all we know, Biff, you're a sheer delight in person. On here, though, your practice of denigrating a news organization in order to flip things around and promote yourself for the job (and this is now at least twice you've done so) just comes across as quadruped squeeze. Whether it's bovine or equine is TBD.

Canine. Feline. Whatever works. We don't discriminate on the basis of species feces.
