I do believe extreme pain is regarded as a compensable injury in all 50 states.

I've got no answer for you there, not being in law enforcement myself.

I think The Andrew Meyer may be The Next Thing.

Well, at least for 15 minutes.

Ok, I just read his running blog on the 2007 NBA draft.

    Get this:

By now I have seen close to seven million Sprite commercials. You know, the Sublymonal Messaging campaign? Honestly, I think there’s something really wrong with those ads. This is a good time to point out that when watching TV with a group of people, you absolutely HAVE to mute the commercials. It’s hard to start a conversation when some redneck in a cowboy hat keeps screaming at you to buy his trucks. Muting commercials is just a good idea in general – that crap will rot your mind.

    Tasering wasn't good enough.

We need some Starman Justice here.

    Update:

UF's announced two officers have been placed on administrative leave while the incident is investigated by the state of Florida Department of Law Enforcement. The guy's out of jail on own recognizance - I'm sure his PR blitz begins ASAP.

I bet there is better than 50/50 chance that Andrew Meyer is a member in good standing at SportsJournalists.com .

I was wondering when FB was going to say something about this (he did several pages ago).

The kid and the cops were in the wrong. End of discussion. The kid did it to get some cred for YouTube and the cops decided to role play as if they were on "Cops." It's ironic that the UF cops used tasers when most of the campuses across America is considering arming college cops with guns after what took place at Va Tech.

Someone (I'll insert his name when I find it) made a great point earlier in this thread. It's no wonder why our public officials are clueless, but it also give no excuse to anyone to get up in front of a microphone and ramble, scream, and act a damn fool without saying something coherent. If you are going to speak or ask a question, get up, calmly walk up to the mic, get to your fucking point and ask your question, back away from mic, and sit your ass down.

If you don't get the answer to your question, find another time to ask this person again, whether at another forum or one-on-one.

I wasn't surprised at Kerry's reaction. It shows that he's about as stiff as Gore, and as oblivious to the constituency as FB's whipping boy (you know who). It also shows on why it's hilarious to me that guys like Biden, McCain, and Dodd are trying to run for Prez and they have been in office for 20+ years. They are out-of-touch, along with there Senate buddies.

Probably the happiest day of the attention hound's life when he got home, logged on the net, and saw everybody talking about him.

For everyone who doesn't know -- and apparently there are plenty -- campus police are graduates of police academies just like cops in every municipality and are most often armed with a sidearm. These are not "rent-a-cops" like security guards at the mall.

And, stating again, I have absolutely no problem with what they did. And now, knowing more about "The Andrew Meyer" I think he should have been tasered two more times.

I hope he does sue. And when he loses, I hope he gets hit with the attorney's fees for both sides.

They must be going to the Barney Fife Academy. The difference is they don't keep their bullets - or their tasers - in their shirt pocket.
