    He "got what he deserved"?

    Wow.

Did you guys go to, you know, law school?

I'm thinking...what other examples of "he got what he deserved" moments can you think of?

Can you pull a few out of your hats?

OT would have run him over because he, like, deserved it.

So, you have law enforcement experience? What tactics should they have used, chief? You're clearly an authority on the subject.

Attempting to reason with him did no good. Removing him without doing anything to subdue him beyond escorting him to the door did no good. So why exactly were they supposed to do? Just let him scream as long as he wanted and everybody else can just sit and listen to it?

I can tell you, Shaggy, that the people involved are eternally grateful he wasn't. Race played no role in this, but had a non white person handled the situation the same way it would have ended the same way. The guy wanted a scene, and he succeeded in creating one.

    Exactly my thought.

The cops, at that moment, had no idea what this guy was going to do.

I don't see how letting him do that would have hurt a soul.

Because everyone else there has no right to hear the program they came to? No one laying hands on this jerk trumps all their rights? And you know there's no chance this guy's going to pull out a weapon how?

Lord, that would've inflamed this situation about 10 times worse. I know a couple self-proclaimed "civil rights leaders" who would've been on their way to Gainesville within hours after that video first appeared on youtube. Thank goodness for everyone it wasn't that scenario.

You didn't ask about the possibility he had a weapon. You asked about him screaming, and this was a vast overreaction to somebody acting like a fool.

God help us if "they" had to "listen to him"

He wasn't a direct physical threat to anyone including Kerry.

I assume there were you know, security guys for him. Correct me if I'm wrong.

But nice jack-boot response from the Keyston Cops.

You are wrong. UPD was the security - Kerry didn't have his own detail. I notice you couldn't be bothered to actually explain how they could have done it differently, but up in your perch on the moral high ground you definitely know they should have.

  12. First of all, they damn sure should have been able to get the cuffs on him without the taser. If that many cops can't cuff one guy, then that campus is about as safe as Iraq.
Secondly, what did he do to get arrested? He tried to ask a hard question? He kept talking after the mic was cut off?
Is this still the country where we have a Bill of Rights, or did Bush finally shred that enough that we can't even question authority anymore?
