You're right. It also can happen without provocation at all.

You could ask Arthur McDuffie, for one. If he wasn't dead.

  2. I don't think he acted like a threat. He acted like a jackass. Big difference.

He's trying to keep his arm free as you attempt to cuff him despite multiple warnings, and he's already fought off two cops to prevent his ejection from the room. Why? If you're a cop, you can't assume it's only because he's an asshole.

  4. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't you the one who was accusing everyone else of using strawmen?
I hate cops because I don't believe this guy should have been tasered/had his arms broken?

And being an asshole, while not desirable, isn't cause to be held down and electrocuted in this country.

    Yet.

There are plenty of bad cops out there, Tony.

Guys with a badge who love to beat on people's heads.

    Shocked.

Not electrocuted. Electrocution always ends in death.

If you are pissed at these cops for subduing a completely out-of-control suspect without even hurting him, then, yes, you hate cops. No strawman at all.

The McDuffie story jibes exactly with Matador's point. Police can be volatile if they feel pushed. And a high-speed chase when dude has outstanding traffic warrants falls into that category. It's not right, but it's the truth.

He was nowhere near completely out of control.

And the fact that the suspect in question is completely healthy tells me that these six cops don't fall under your "bad cops" blanket.
