There might not be a law specifically saying you can't ignite a cross in someone's yard but it's obvious what it is, Tony. It's a threat. Of violence. It means get out or great harm will come to you.

It boils down to this, Ton: You have the right to do anything you want until you impede on my rights. It's a hate crime.

 

I agree with you completely about the burning of the cross on someone's lawn. I don't think the noose is the same thing, even though the assholes are trying to use it in the same way. Like I said, it's got to be a crime before it's a hate crime. No crime, no hate crime. Owning a rope and tying it in a noose simply is not a crime.

 

At the least you can agree that you should expect to get your ass kicked if you do something like that ...

 

I don't know if you should expect it, but you shouldn't be surprised by it. And it still doesn't make the resulting ass-kicking legal.
