I'm sure that the military satellites can look through the cloud cover and know whether the Moskva sank or not, while the commercial sats have been blocked by cloud cover. Until there is an announcement, it is unknown whether Moskva is still afloat or has joined a Special Submarine Mission. It looks like the Ukrainians used a drone to distract their radar while sneaking in an anti-ship missile or two from the opposite side.

Even if it did not sink, when you evacuate a ship there is no one left to run damage control and fight the fires, so at best Moskva is badly damaged to gutted by fire and explosions.

It's WWIII. It's just not all the way engaged yet. Putin has backed himself into a corner. He really has. He started a war of choice and all the support at home doesn't change the fact that everyone else sees it. They see his weak military. They see his unattainable goals. They see. NATO is closer now than it was in 2020 after Trump spent four years attacking it. The West is more united than it has been. Putin fucked up. And his next dick-wagging move is nukes.

    It's WWIII.

I am fine with the contents of the article. But I hate that stupid headline construction.

These are the Snake Island commemorative stamps. I can't wait for the Moskva stamp.

I know it's a common idea to say that the Russian population supports Putin in this, but considering the choice is either support or find oneself in a Siberian prison or dead, one wonders how much support Putin actually has beyond his yes-men.

And the longer this war goes on, and the more times that Putin and Co. have to explain away "accidents", the more the population may start to wonder what the heck is really going on.

We have heard dribs and drabs about Ukrainian deaths, but the lack of numbers out there regularly show how much they’re taking a hit. If the Russians and their mercenaries are killing a couple hundred people in every town they held surrounding Kyiv… do the math.

How does the populace support for a war decrease? We've seen it, body bags coming home, relatives lost or wounded, and the costs of war diverting resources from other items. Whatever control Putin has over the country, at some point he has to answer for those items. You can't just hide the costs of war forever.
