Should Biden have not gone to a funeral in Delaware while this was all going on?

Some dipshit on Twitter blamed him "hiding in the basement" for the bombing of an apartment building that injured 33 kids (which didn't happen).

Further to Germany not doing its reputation any favors:
Germany still blocking arms supplies to Ukraine

I'm sure part of it is my own "bias/prejudice" - but this invasion by Russia into Ukraine just feels different than just about every other military action I've read about, watched etc. in my lifetime. Shoot, the US invasion of Panama, Desert Storm, Grenada were couched in terms of the US had to get involved to avoid further problems to our hemispheric security or the economy. Other clashes seemed to be described as "ethnic clashes" or wars involving varying ideas about a religion, and I couldn't really relate and would dismiss it as "well, they've been fighting over that stuff for centuries." But this one, seems like such a naked power grab - almost aggression for the sake of aggression.

Similar, in my mind, to the invasion of Iraq.

Absolutely. I still remember the presser ahead of the invasion - and it was pretty much "well, we're going in if they give up the WMDs, whether they exist, or not." And the media types seemed so resigned to it. Heck, I read about networks ramping up their war prep for months ahead of this, investing a ton in going in with troops. It's crazy that Bush and Cheney are now seen as "good guys" in comparison to the present head of the party.

Unless Putin starts to destroy Odessa, Sevastopol and other Ukrainian Black Sea ports, one of the reasons for this invasion was cheap and easier access for exports and imports. Pipelines work when you are selling gas to neighbors. Not farther away. And not raw materials or even finished products. Putin must have thought this would be an occupation followed by a puppet regime.

nothing is just a naked power grab, it’s economic. Either providing jobs for a million unemployed like Germany in the 30’s or getting food and farmland. Or getting ports. Ukraine has both and isn’t run by the billionaire oligarchs.

My thought was that after "annexing" Crimea in 2014 - he realized how expensive it was to resupply it with just one road connecting it to Russia - and he was looking for a shortcut.

Finland and Sweeden are the two that worry me.

If they are blocked from goining NATO, then someone is going to have to punch back.

Maddow is full of shit. The Russian people couldn't be happier, according to the most recent RT poll.
