My guess is Dubai. The UAE isn’t big on extradition.

The fact he took a Greyhound and stayed in a hostel tells me he acted alone. Accomplices could've driven him there, provided a bedroom, etc. out of public view.

if this isn’t the best argument for defunding the police, I don’t know what is.

My favorite MAGA idiot bumper sticker is the one that says something like "fine, you don't like the police, don't call them when something happens, see how you like it then!" Well assholes, that pretty much just happened! Guy got murdered in broad just-before-daylight and none of these assholes can find his killer.

My argument to, “don’t call them when something happens” is always “like I can’t find someone else to tell me to file a claim with my insurance company.”

Everybody is opining about how this guy should have been caught because he is on the lam... check every terminal and crossing, etc.
I'm trying to figure out how to articulate this without raising eyebrows. The way you don't get caught is to remain calm and blend in. While the dragnet widens, remain calm and close, and calmly stroll away once the heat is miles away.
If you are a bow hunter and shoot a deer, the worst thing you can do is chase it immediately after the shot. If you do, you are chasing it for miles before it bleeds out. What you do is shoot, sit still and wait 15-20 minutes, then follow the blood trail for maybe 100 yards, and find the deer where it laid down to die.
    Same principle.

Makes me want to watch "The Town" again, when Ben Affleck's character waits for the FBI to stop staking out his girlfriend's place then calmly changes into an MBTA bus driver uniform, heads to the depot and drives away in one.
