I guess if I'd read their paper I'd have known that about Goldberg. Something has to happen soon, fall drills start August 7.

Nine pages of a thread and pretty much no usable information, as far as I can see.

Welcome to the SportsJournalists.com board. It's like that on this board an awful lot of the time. There is not enough good info like I've shown here above, from Point of Order.
That's the kind of stuff that we'd all be better off seeing more of.
Hard, honest, thoughtful speculation on these various job openings is always nice to see.
A lot of people on the board are nervous, I think, about name-dropping too much with regard to job openings.
In other instances, yes, the names are thrown about with rapidity.
But not enough on the jobs forum.
The one guy I know who applied got a quick e-mail back from the editor, saying that lots of in-state people had applied. He alerted said individual (and I don't want to out the guy or make him uncomfortable in his present workplace, where he doesn't get to be a practices every day but still stays on top of the UA beat and creates good feature reads on the side) that there would be "outside candidates" given as strong of a look as the insiders.

I like young Mr. Veazey for a variety of reasons, most notably his 180 degree turn on that fucking war criminal in the White House.

The Young Republicans at his alma mater are probably ready to stone him, as he veers toward the Libertarian Party and deduces a can of Busch beer has a greater IQ than the Decider.

Another fine young journalist, Ian Rapoport of the Clarion-Ledger in Jackson, is in the hunt here and this guy has promise. Plus he was born after disco, loud polyester outfits and doin' the bump at college mixers to catchy tunes like "Shake Your Booty." Funny guy. You can hang with him down at South Beach and it's all good.

Ah, K.C. & The Sunshine Band.

The News will make a good hire. Whoever it is will wind up picking up first round at The Tap, come next SEC baseball tourney or Media Daze.

Hey, they can hire Kyle, Ian or Slap Maxwell as far as I'm concerned. But make a decision already and give their present papers a break.

Right, Kyle? Ian?? Best of luck to the Young Stallions

Look, is it possible to keep your deranged political rantings on the Anything Goes board?

    I didn't think so.

I heard that board favorite Josh Kendall is up for this gig.

    It'd be a great hire.

I believe Kendall is the Georgia beat writer for Athens and the rest of the Morris papers.
Veazey is a good choice and I don't remember his name, but the UT writer for Chattanooga would be solid as well.
