I don't care about who has political clout and who doesn't. Look, it was clearly a monumentally stupid thing to say, and Castro is clearly a really bad guy. But I could also argue that China's politics are even more disgusting than Cuba's, and yet we fawn over ourselves to pour money into their communist (of sorts, anymore) regime. But you so much as buy a cigar from Cuba even if you're in Canada and you're headed to Leavenworth, Kansas. It's easy to say Cuba can fix this so easily. But let's not pretend we're not being blatant hypocrites either.

And Az hit it on the head on page 7, too.

Oh fucking hell already. Shotglass and Piotr, just shut the fuck up.

    SHUT

    THE

    FUCK

    UP!!!!

The two of you. Stop fucking whining. Just ignore each other. Ignore the ever loving shit out of each other. Even if it's like two bitchy eighth grade girls who scowl at each other while ignoring the shit out of each other. But just ignore the shit out of each other.

I had a legit beef with his viewpoint in this thread. I didn't randomly mention his name in a conversation with someone else.

Anyone who thinks the Cuban community needs to be told to hate pro-Castro statements, is profoundly uninformed. And their screen name can be Webby for all I care.

I don't understand why he has to bring up this peripheral BS instead of actually attempting to sell such a statement, but that's the level of discourse, I suppose.

Oh, jeez, FH, if you're so disturbed, kick me the hell out. This is a damn message board. We're not hurting you.

This thread was good in the beginning but then it went too far.

I've seen threads locked for less than this.

    In the last 10 minutes.

Yes, you just draw that parallel of ML King to Al Sharpton. You do that. :)

Why would you want this thread shut down? Who cares if two posters have a beef, for the most part it's on topic.

More a comment on the general notion that somehow grass roots movements are diminished if strong leaders are spearheading them than a comparison between specific leaders.

As far as China and Cuba go: China has international political clout. Cuba does not. Period. End of story. International relations is about 10 percent principle, 90 percent self-preservation.

  12. Seriously, anyone who thinks Cuban-Americans in Miami needed someone to get them upset about this, after years of memories of Castro's dictatorship has either never been to Miami, never met someone who is Cuban, both, or just completely ignores common sense.

Aside from that, amazingly dumb move by Ozzie, even by his standards, as so brilliantly illustrated by some hilarious lampooning statements on this thread.

    I'll play.

"I always loved the Boss, but he could have learned a thing or two about running a ballclub from John Henry and Larry Lucchino," new Yankees manager Ozzie Guillen said.
