I look each day, several times a day, at where the eyeballs go on the site. We rotate in stories through our "top stories" area based on timeliness. With the Big-J stuff (state government, et al) we find ways to keep them "above the fold" on the site. Make a poster out of it, go looking for links to update it and push it up, etc.

We stress having new content when people come to visit. So what's in the No. 1 slot now may not be there in 15 minutes, let alone 6 hours.

But, as said, if it's a Big J story, we find a way to keep that presence.
